i went to the most magnificent shop today before my wisdom teeth extraction. it was piled high with so many wonderful things. i was in a sensory overload. the shop is called "paris to the moon." and it has the most exquisite selection of treasures both vintage and reproduction and everything from bakers twine by the yard to vintage imported garden gnomes to miniature l'arc de triomphs covered in formica glitter! i bought three graduated sized vintage red paper honeycomb party balls to hang in the corner of my living room, a glass painted frog christmas tree light cover ornament, miniature holly boughs to place atop christmas packages, and two different types of paper gift tags for christmas presents. honestly, amazing. the display work is phenomenal.
my wisdom teeth extraction went quite smoothly. i had two of my three removed- the third of which is too far up to ever come down. the first required some maneuvering, only to be pulled out swiftly, as my dentist exclaimed awful sentimentally "aw! it's a boy!" and the second wasn't as easy. incisions were made and it was cracked and drilled and pulled out bit by bit. but i survived and will go back next week to get the stitches removed. after the surgery, i was well enough to go to the grocery store, hang my paper decorations, and wrap presents. i took a nap and now i'm going to try to eat some eggs. i also bought the tastiest soy silk milk pumpkin spice that i'm drinking right now and it tastes just like fall and thanksgiving.
tomorrow, i see family. and i'm going to try and mush down some yams, if anything. i don't eat turkey so the thanksgiving meal isn't a big deal to me. but, i'm greatful to have these days off to recover. :)
i'm also thankful that i got my wisdom teeth out of the way but, i am now $750 dollars poorer - and right before my trip to paris too.
